David Spies is a senior vice president and the chief software architect of LPS' Empower division. His primary responsibilities include the strategy, architecture and development of the Empower Loan Origination systems. Spies is and has been intimately involved in all aspects of LOS delivery including sales and contract negotiations, as well as day-to-day operations of the business.

Spies joined the Empower division in 1991. Since then, he has successfully brought to market two previous deliveries of loan origination software and just recently delivered the latest Empower flagship product designed in a Service Oriented Architecture with Microsoft .NET at its basis.

Spies has been quoted in several technology industry periodicals including EWeek, ETrade and various Microsoft publications. He has worked with Gartner in developing case studies and comment on various technology movements within the information technology space.

Spies attended Youngstown State University; where he graduated Suma Cum Laude earning a major in Computer Science with a triple minor in Business Administration, Mathematics and Physics.
